I feel that you're getting at the underlying issue of society not seeing children as citizens - active participants in their communities. We tend to hold them in a position of 'becoming', undervaluing what they have to offer and limiting their voice.

yes - the is an immense failing of noticing what is actually going on, and upholding adult status quo (with its other biases added)

There is a need to understand each and every child not only as an individual with a past, present and future (was, being, becoming) but also the child in relation to others (human and more than human) - and to value every step we make.
